Tarot Card 101

Tuesday, October 176:30—8:00 PMMeeting RoomHampstead Public Library9 Mary E. Clark Drive, Hampstead, NH, 03841

Let's talk tarot! This event is for anyone who wants to learn more about tarot cards, using the classic Smith-Rider-Waite deck as a guide.

This is a lecture-style program with Q&A woven throughout. Kate’s presentation will cover basic tarot theory, giving you a bird's eye view of the Major and Minor Arcana. Rather than working to memorize seventy-eight discrete card meanings, we’ll approach the tarot holistically, as a symbolic and archetypal language. As with any language, you won't become fluent in reading tarot overnight, but you will leave the program with a clear framework to begin your own tarot practice at home.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a notebook and pen, plus your favorite tarot deck (if you have one). Although this program will not include personalized readings or card interpretations from Kate, she will demonstrate the nuts and bolts of how to conduct a reading and, time permitting, you’ll be invited to pull cards for yourself at the end of the evening.

This program isn’t about “fortune-telling,” psychic predictions, or pinning down “what the cards mean.” This is about empowering YOU to explore new avenues of self-reflection and personal growth!
