20 years ago there was no second floor of the library, but then Hampstead resident Bob Turner volunteered his skills for a unique fundraising effort to create a usable space on the second floor: ride his bike nearly 2,000 miles from Florida all the way back to Hampstead. This amazing ride rose $35,000 and funded the library addition. 

Come hear Bob speak about his incredible journey, including the preparations he took to ensure the ride was a success, the minimal items he took with him, how his wife Betty kept the community updated on his progress, and the people he met along the way and the ways they supported him along the ride.
