War and Family: WW2 Letters Home

Tuesday, November 186:30—7:30 PMMeeting RoomHampstead Public Library9 Mary E. Clark Drive, Hampstead, NH, 03841

This program is presented in partnership with the Hampstead Historical Society

Step back in time through the heartfelt words of World War II servicemen and women—rescued from obscurity and brought vividly to life, one letter at a time by Lauren Muise.

Hampstead resident Lauren Muise is the creator and host of War and Family: Letters Home, a podcast that breathes life into forgotten wartime correspondence found in antique stores and auction lots. With each letter, she pieces together the life of its author—before, during, and after the war—and takes an extraordinary extra step: searching for descendants and returning these precious artifacts to their rightful families.

In this presentation, Lauren offers a moving, behind-the-scenes look at her research process and the powerful stories she uncovers. Each letter is a time capsule—a voice echoing from foxholes, field hospitals, ships, and barracks—reminding us of the personal cost of war, and the resilience of those who lived through it.

Join us to discover how history is being preserved, honored, and returned—one letter, one story, one family at a time.

Because the voices of the Greatest Generation were never meant to be forgotten.
