Originally an historic farm and private garden, Bedrock Gardens is now a public garden that features unusual botanical specimens and sculpture by co-founder Jill Nooney. The 37-acre site is home to over a thousand different plant species, an 18th century farmhouse, various gardens, a wildlife pond, two miles of woodland paths, a Japanese tea house, and many structural elements that contribute to the uniqueness of the landscape. They are typically closed during the winter months, so check the website for details on the schedule.

The Currier Museum of Art, located in Manchester, NH, features European and American paintings, decorative arts, photographs and sculpture. The permanent collection includes works by Picasso, Matisse, Monet, O'Keeffe, Calder, John Singer Sargent, Frank Lloyd Wright, Andrew Wyeth, and Sol LeWitt. Special exhibitions provide opportunities to present work by contemporary and/or local artists, as well as take in-depth looks at certain objects or areas of the Museum's collection. Public programs include tours, live classical music and “Family Days” which include activities for all ages. The Museum also offers tours of the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Zimmerman House, now listed on the Register of Historic Places (reservations required). There is a museum store on the premises.

The Currier Museum of Art pass admits up to 2 adults (18+) for 50% off general admission. Anyone 17 and under is admitted for free with an accompanying adult. Not valid for special ticketed events, "just for members" events, or the Zimmerman House. Be sure to read the museum’s visitor requirements, hours, etc. on their website, www.Currier.org.

The Gardner Museum houses the collection of Isabella Stewart Gardner, a local patron of the arts who died in 1924, in a building she commissioned to look like a 15th century Venetian palazzo. The center of the original building showcases courtyard plantings that reflect the seasons as they evolve throughout the year. In addition to her collection, which remains displayed exactly she arranged it per her will, there are changing exhibitions, concerts, lectures, family events, and an artist-in-residence program. In 2012, the museum opened an addition designed by Renzo Piano that houses a space for their concert series.

The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum requests timed-tickets. PLEASE PLAN IN ADVANCE. You must reserve your Museum Pass and reserve timed tickets online or through the museum Box office at least 48 hours prior to visiting. This is an ePass, the discount code will be sent to the email connected to your library card. If you need a printed pass, please come into the library.

Each pass admits up to 4 adults for $5 each (general admission only.) Children 17 and under receive free admission. 

Tickets AND museum pass from library must be show upon entry to the museum. The Library promo code (in email) can only be redeemed for the day you have reserved. Should you have any difficulty securing tickets on line, please contact the museum box office by phone. Box Office at 617-278-5156.

The Boston Museum of Fine Arts, in existence since July 4, 1876, is one of the most comprehensive art museums in the world, with a collection of almost 500,000 works of art, ranging from ancient Egyptian artifacts to contemporary painting, sculpture and video. In addition, there are always special exhibitions on view, opportunities to take advantage of educational programs—some right in the galleries—and a contemplative Japanese garden.

Pass Benefits

The MFA pass admits 2 visitors for $10 each (children under 6 are free).

You do NOT have to pick up a pass for the MFA at the library. When you make your library pass reservation, you will be sent an email to the address the library has on record. It will contain the discount promo code you need when making your reservation (the email will come from "Hampstead Public Library via Assabet Interactive Support").  If you don't get the email within an hour of completing your pass reservation on our website, please call the library at 603-329-6411.

To reserve a discounted ticket please go to mfa.org/tickets, select the date and type of ticket, and enter the promo code on the top right corner of the next page which will activate the reduced admission rate.

You will receive an email from the MFA with your admission ticket(s). Present that email ticket at the MFA - preferably on your phone or device, but tickets printed on paper are okay. A physical library pass is not necessary.

The Peabody Essex Museum grew out of the collection of East India Marine Society, an organization of Salem captains whose charter called for acquisition of “natural and artificial curiosities.” Its permanent collection contains art and artifacts of Africa, Asia, India, China (with a Qing Dynasty house brought from the Huizhou region), Japan, Korea, Pacific Islands, and features objects of maritime art and history that include paintings, drawings, ship models, marine decorative arts, tools, weapons, navigational instruments, and ship and yacht plans. It also has a thriving changing exhibition schedule that sometimes includes important traveling shows.

The Peabody Essex Museum pass admits 2 adults for the reduced admission fee of $12 per person. Youth under 16 years of age are always free. 

There is a separate charge for the Yin Yu Tang house. Access to special ticketed exhibitions may require a separate fee. See the museum's website for calendar details. 

You will receive an email which provides the discount code you need when you book your tickets with the museum. Then visit pem.org/tickets to select the time and day you wish to visit (after entering the code select Library Discount - not General Admission - to use your discount). The museum, a part of the Boston National Historical Park, is located in the Charlestown Navy Yard near the ship USS Constitution (“Old Ironsides”) at the end of Boston’s Freedom Trail. The museum provides a detailed look at the history of the ship, information about the war of 1812, and the battle between the ship and HMS Java. Stories are told through interactive exhibits, unique artifacts, archival records, and artwork. The museum also includes a research library which houses a strong collection of manuscripts, books, artifacts, and microfilm of primary source material. The ship itself is maintained by the US Navy, and may be visited free of charge on certain days.

Valid for up to 9 people for free admission. The USS Constitution Museum is located in Charlestown Navy Yard.

Museum pass holders must show their pass upon entering to receive free admission. There are no advanced tickets or reservations required for entry.
